After a decade of making music videos and short films, in 2015 he wrote, directed, and shot the web series Nikola Tesla and the End of the World. It was nominated for Best British Series at the Raindance Film Festival and has been watched over a million times across YouTube and Prime, winning positive notices from Nature and Libération. A second season was released on CBC and won the Grand Prize at the New Media Film Festival.
Ian's work as an editor includes TV dramas, commercials and art films, including multiple collaborations with musician Connie Kaldor and artist Kent Monkman. His current focus is on documentaries about science, history and society. Ian has edited over a hundred hours of broadcast television for the BBC, PBS, Channel 4, France TV, CBC and NHK.
